D.Kay

It’s hard to sum up d.kay in a few sentences, but one thing is for sure; you get one of the most diverse and prolific artists on the scene.

Not only has d.kay hit the UK national charts at #14 with the summer hit “Barcelona” (feat. Stamina MC) (drum & bass’ highest entry), but he has also graced the hottest labels in the drum and bass scene. Be it Hospital, Metalheadz, Bingo or Soul:R, d.kay is known for musically advanced rollers and anthems, that never fail to please listeners or party goers alike. His production horizon stretches from liquid funk to jump up, dropping sing-along and rewind material on the way. You’ll find d.kay tracks in nearly every dnb DJ’s record box.

As a DJ himself he has traveled a good portion of this planet. Having touched down all over Europe and also touring Australia, he is known to rock the floor like no other.
A crowd pleaser at all times, he incorporates all styles of drum & bass and always leaves a healthy mark of d&b in clubland. Like in the studio, his sets spawn across the board of styles, giving you only the best of what drum & bass has to offer.
Future hits, current hot dubplates and timeless classic booty shakers are the trademark sound of d.kay on the decks..

On the road he represents the full 360 degrees of drum and bass and of course his own label Brigand Music. Established in 2005, the label is up to release #10 and already has quite a few classics under its belt. Tracks including “Babylon” (with Kasra), “Serenade”, “Desire” (with DJ Lee), and “Feature creep” (with Sonic) have all hit the 1xtra d&b charts.
Watch out for more wall shaking d&b pressure from Brigand Music.

d.kay has a full length album in the pipeline, which will be released in June 2007. Featuring more than 12 musicians this piece sounds like drum & bass with real 70s influences – groovy, funky, jazzy summer vibes with a hint of soul.

After all this, his talents do not stop here. d.kay is one of the key figures in building up the drum & bass scene in Austria, promoting regular big events, importing the UK sound. On top of that he runs a monthly d&b radio show on FM4, Austria’s national urban radio station. His weekly dnb night “beat it” at the legendary Vienna night club Flex has established itself as melting point for the Vienna scene, which is more than healthy and still growing, too, just like d.kay’s fanbase.
